              Let Freedom and Humor Live

Because Jihad is not a joke.

Why Laughyourheadoff.org?

In 2006 Laughyourheadoff.org launched the first International Islamic Cartoon Contest as a response to the turmoil surrounding the 12 satirical cartoons published in Denmark.

Unfortunately, the reasons for sponsoring a project to promote freedom of speech and expression remain much the same as they were in 2006. Therefore, we are just going to keep the same reasons for why the contest was initially started. The only additional reason is in itself reason enough to draw cartoons and celebrate freedom: the latest murder attempt on the life of Kurt Westergaard and his granddaughter by a Jihadist from Somalia with ties to Al-Qaeda.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(The following was written in February, 2006 and appears with minor deletions and grammatical changes)

I will explain myself by citing (in blue) the words of those more eloquent than I for assistance.

First, more important than any words is this disturbing fact. Despite the millions and millions of peace-loving Muslims around the world who have no wish to use violence to "share" their faith, there are militarily and politically-significant numbers of offended Muslims in the world who have become so upset over some satirical cartoons – CARTOONS, mind you – in a Danish paper, that buildings have b een burned and people killed. Many of these angry Muslims also take literally the Koranic admonitions to behead infidels.

Why Does Allah Love This?

One [actually, 2 sections] of 3 Indonesian Christian girls beheaded on their way to church in Oct. 2005

Because, just like in Beowulf’s day, there is a brain-sucking demonic entity whose tentacles are threatening liberty and justice in Europe and around the globe. .

As Dutch Somali-born politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali [who is under death threat] said..“because of the complacency and self-censorship of Europe’s political and intellectual elites, the self-pity of the Muslims, and the threat of violence by the jihadists.”

Because this is an artistic and cultural battle of Tours against the forces of tyranny and ignorance that would, if lost, eventually lead to the enslavement of non-Islamic Westerners in their own nations.

In support of France Soir editor, Serge Faubert., who dared to say: "Enough lessons from these reactionary bigots!...Just because the Koran bans images of Mohammed doesn't mean non-Muslims have to submit to this." [And was then fired by his Quisling, part-Egyptian publisher]

Because Dr. Agnès Callamard, executive director of Article 19 rightly believes "The right to freedom of opinion and expression is a fundamental right that safeguards the exercise of all other rights and is a critical underpinning of democracy….As international human rights courts have stressed, it is applicable not only to "information" or "ideas" that are favourably received but also to those that offend, shock or disturb….Our societies need to find more sensible ways to address situations like this, which highlight global differences of opinion. Free speech, the involvement of a diversity of voices, well-informed public debates and a responsible media are central to this.” ·

And, as Kathleen Parker warns, "those who out of a misguided sense of cultural sensitivity and niceness try to justify Muslim outrage over a cartoon are, frankly, lending aid and comfort to the enemies of civilization."

Because a morally-bankrupt, politically-motivated, self-promoting, Saudi-money-accepting, ex-President named Bill has called the original 12 mostly-innocuous cartoons “totally outrageous cartoons against Islam.”

Because former US President, John Quincy Adams, wrote: “…he [Muhammad] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind…The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God.”

Because the current US President just reminded the world: “...one of the main sources of reaction and opposition is radical Islam - the perversion by a few of a noble faith into an ideology of terror and death....When they murder children at a school in Beslan ... or blow up commuters in London ... or behead a bound captive ... the terrorists hope these horrors will break our will, allowing the violent to inherit the Earth. But they have miscalculated: We love our freedom, and we will fight to keep it." George "Dubya" Bush, State of the Union Address, January 31, 2006 AD.

Because
“The Danish cartoon case is becoming a never-ending story, which shows that freedom of speech no longer exists in Europe.” Paul Belien, editor of The Brussels Journal. (Deserves International Pulitzer Prize)

Because…"freedom of speech is absolute. It is not negotiable." Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen. He also said: "I will never accept that respect for a religious stance leads to the curtailment of criticism, humour, and satire in the press...As Prime Minister I have no tool whatsoever to take actions against the media and I don't want that kind of tool."

Because, like millions of people, I love Mr. Bean, and Mr. Bean just said to Parliament: " In my opinion, freedom of expression is being allowed to cause trouble, or create discomfort, or offence, as long as your words or behaviour are not threatening," and "I wish the oxygen of free expression to be available to all but it is not enjoyed by all, and where its availability is most poor is often within religious communities."

Because free speech is a healthy antidote to tyranny, since William Pitt (the Younger) said: "Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom; it is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves;”
and Edmund Burke warned that "The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away for expedience and by parts;" and because Orwell said "If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."

Because it is time for Holger Danske to wake up from his slumbers and do battle again for the Danes.

Because I am a New Yorker, a Berliner, and a Dane, dammit, and if I wanted to live under the rules of Wahhabi hypocrites and totalitarians I would move to Saudi Arabia.

Because I like the taste of Havarti cheese, Carlsberg beer, and Danish ham.

In view of the fact that Denmark is the point-of-the-spear role in battling for freedom from Sharia limits on personal expression. We owe it to ourselves, even more than we owe it to the Danes, to buy Danish products.”  Thomas Lifson AD 1-31-06

Because any newspaper in the free world with any backbone should put examples of the offending 12 cartoons on their websites in solidarity with the press in Denmark.

As I agree with the thought that "No one secure in their religious beliefs need fear laughter." Rabbi Jonathan Romain, at a protest in Parliament during recent attempts to kill debate, reason, and liberty through various "hate-crime" schemes.

Because of the danger of: "As it grows into an international cause célèbre, the cartoon controversy indicates the gulf between the Islamic world and the post-Christian West in matters of freedom of speech and expression. And it may yet turn out that as the West continues to pay homage to its idols of tolerance, multiculturalism, and pluralism, it will give up those hard-won freedoms voluntarily.” Robert Spencer

Because I don’t want my daughter or sons, or anybody else’s children, to end up living under dhimmitude, or dying like the girl in the picture above.

Because good-natured humor is a great blessing, to persons and societies; and because allowing ill-natured or critical humor, even when it is not funny, is the price free and/or offended people must pay in order to stay free.

Because I am FREE, thank God*, and I’d like to stay that way.  (*Not Allah)

Because I, like many, many concerned Christians, Jews, and others are very disturbed that the majority of the world’s Islamic leaders and newspaper editors don’t scream boycott or threaten death when their own cartoonists picture Jews as blood-drinking pigs, demons, or global conspirators for the Elders of Zion. Ditto the hateful cartoons and sermons that are aimed at Hindus, Buddhists, and, well...all non-Muslims! Tolerance is a two-way street in our still-intact neck of the woods.

Because heroes like Preben Munch-Nielsen need to remembered, and emulated. The spirit of Hitler is on the move again and there needs to be worldwide resistance.

Because maybe this cartoon contest will help increase the tidal wave of protest, prayer and resistance that is needed in order to defeat the Islamofascist freaks who dance around and cheer when elderly Jewish grandparents are blown to little, bloody bits during a Passover Seder, or when they see the heads of “infidels” rolling in front of them. It does little good for someone to remember the Holocaust when they don't see the next attempt coming.

Because, while not trying to disturb or offend any other human being with dignity who follows Islam, I tend to agree with John Q. Adams, who wrote that: “In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar [i.e., Muhammad],  the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth.  Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle.  Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion.  He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind.  THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST:  TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE (Adams' capital letters)….Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged.  The war is yet flagrant…While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men.”

Because as even the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, who has voiced tremendous respect for and given the appropriate honor to the Muslim peoples of the world, has said:

“....wherever we look, Islam seems to be embroiled in conflict with other faiths and other cultures. It is in opposition to practically every other world religion- to Judaism in the Middle East; to Christianity in the West, in Nigeria, and in the Middle East; to Hinduism in India; to Buddhism, especially since the destruction of the Temples in Afghanistan.... We are presented therefore with a huge puzzle concerning Islam. Why is it associated with violence throughout the world? Is extremism so ineluctably bound up with its faith that we are at last seeing its true character? Or could it be that a fight for the soul of Islam is going on that requires another great faith, Christianity, to support and encourage the vast majority of Muslims who resist this identification of their faith with terrorism?…We need to hear outright condemnation of theologies that state that suicide bombers are 'martyrs' and enter a martyrs reward. We need to hear Muslims expressing their outrage and condemning such evil.”

Mostly, because I am not really inclined just yet to bow down, bend over, and submit to the enforced political sodomy that Islamofascists wish to commit against me and my civilization.

There are more reasons, but these should help you get the point of why it is so important that more of the world's Muslims learn to take a joke without the urge to behead someone, and why free people must not allow their leaders to take away their right to draw cartoons or make statements that may be offensive to others.
